I was always a skinny kid – very underweight. I started training to gain self-confidence and strength.
The person I most wanted to be when I started was...

My best friend and training partner, IFBB Pro Stephane Caron.

AMINOMANIA, GLUTAMEND and the new XFRAME!
The best thing about training is...
The mind-muscle connection, the pump, and improving muscular control and development. Once you start seeing the changes, you’re hooked!
Two things I would change about competitions are...
At regional level shows, I would have more information (videos and/or handouts, for instance), for family members and other members of the audience, about the history of our sport, the evolving judging criteria, levels of competition, etc. I believe a better understanding would create more fans and attract more athletes!
Additionally, I would have more promotion and advertising to draw in potential fans outside of the bodybuilding and fitness industry. For us (me, Fusion and everyone reading this profile!) bodybuilding is our passion, but there are so many people that have no knowledge of what we live for.
My ultimate goal is...
To earn my IFBB Pro Card and represent Canada internationally. Also, I would like to do my part to change the bodybuilder archetype.
Years I’ve been training...
I’ve been in the gym for 15 years, though I used to go back and forth between bodybuilding and martial arts. For the last five years, I have been dedicated to bodybuilding.
What I enjoy most about competing is...
How it forces me to step outside of my comfort zone. I am introverted by nature and a quiet guy, but wearing tiny posing trunks in front of hundreds of people, and having your body judged and compared with others onstage pushes you to adapt! It’s terrifying and awesome!
The thing I hate most about stepping up onstage is...
The anxiety during the days and hours leading up to the show! After years of training and months of dieting and posing, you only have a few short minutes to show your body onstage.
The pros I most look forward to being onstage with are...

Don’t leave things until the last minute! Diet very long and very slowly – the more extreme the prep, the more uncontrollable it becomes.
One bodybuilding secret I discovered is...
Be humble. Be supportive and encouraging to other competitors, athletes and fans. These qualities will ensure that you surround yourself with positivity, which, as cheesy as it sounds, I truly believe propels your success.
We all love bodybuilding. It is unlike any other sport; as a competitor, the only person in your way is yourself! Encourage everyone to be their best!
